Dark Souls streams getting uploaded to YouTube!

Jesus, how long has it been since Kuoushi posted a news update on his own site? Quite a damn long time. But that’s okay, there hasn’t really been TOO much news aside from Wang’s video reviews and other reviews that he’s been posting. You should read those probably. He puts a lot of work into them.

That aside, our recent explorations into Dark Souls are being uploaded to YouTube and archived. As of this news post there will be 13 up, and the rest will go up in the next few days as well. I’m starting to get all of the older streams onto YouTube so we can have a functioning archive again. Hopefully the few of you who do watch recorded streams will be able to appreciate this.

Edit: And now, all of the archived recordings of Dark Souls have hit the YouTube archive and are available for viewing! You can watch them through the site here the same way you’ve always done so. Videos->Kuoushi->Pick Dark Souls from the dropdown list. Bighead recommends episode 9 I believe. That’s where he killed TPR a couple of times and we had a lot of jolly cooperation.

3 long years of streaming

And luckily for us, that lands on a saturday! Today is our three year anniversary. We’ve had our doors open here at kuoushi.com for about three years now, in case you didn’t know what a three year anniversary means.

So, we’re going to have some streams tonight to celebrate. First off is Krisper with some magical giveaways and things, then Highwang with more magical wangs. I’m not sure what that entails exactly, but yeah.

Then Kuoushi with stuff.

Also, there will be some giveaways so stick around. Giveaways provided by Krisper!

Thanks for a fun 3 years fellows. Here’s looking for some more.

Kuoushi unable to stream for a bit

I’m going to be working at a film festival from September 20th to the 27th, and after that I will have a flight early morning on the 29th. This means that realistically I won’t be able to stream until MAYBE the 30th. As such, I don’t think I’ll start Legend of Dragoon until then. Tonight and tomorrow there will be streams, but they’ll just be a random filler game of my choice.

Hopefully other streamers will step in to take the midnight timeslot. Someone like that Highwang guy. I hear it’s his network these days.

Wild ARMs challenge!

You have been challenged to design some icons and windows for Kuoushi’s Wild ARMs stream. Since we found out that you can change practically any icon in the game, as well as the window and window borders, I want to play the rest of Wild ARMs with some customized icons.

Now, this does not mean you have to do EVERY SINGLE ICON. If you feel like doing one icon, go ahead. They are 16×16 with 15 colors though there are 3 reserved brown colors for the icon frame. Design whatever you want while keeping the icon frame in mind, post an image link in this thread, and you could see it in game the next stream!

To help you, I have taken the liberty of making an image that contains all of the current icons and their purposes:

Unfortunately since I’m poor I have no real rewards to give out other than maybe 1 copy of Nuclear Dawn and 1 copy of Shadowgrounds. I’ll give them to the two people whose icons I like the best. Participation prize will be seeing your icon in game, basically.

Bonus points if you can design a fun window set for the game too:

Go wild!”

Another chapter of Oniwakamaru!

Yes, news that I’m sure you guys have been waiting for, there’s another chapter of Oniwakamaru the Visitor out. Has some nice character development and all that. So in keeping with letting you guys know when something I’ve been working on is released, here are some more links! Scanlated by Illuminati-Manga, you can find it here.

Also I translated Devilman G and some anonymous individuals scanlated a couple chapters of that. Devilman G is a re-telling of the original Devilman with some occult influences and a different focus.”

Suikoden 2, done and done.

So we finally beat Suikoden 2, that means we have to pick what game to play next! Exciting news for all of us, I’m sure. I’ve got 4 games up on the poll, all are from the Playstation. Tomb Raider 2 and Final Fantasy Tactics I’m sure most of you know of, the other two choices need a little bit of introduction so I’ll link some Youtube videos here for you guys to check out.

Wild Arms: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9PSxZQlGj8

So, vote up. This poll is only open for a day!

Edit: Also! Another series that I translated just had its first chapter released. It’s called Terra for Mars. All science fiction and shit. You got your standard thing where the world is running out of resources, so Earth tries to properly terraform Mars to relieve some of the stress on Earth. Something goes wrong during the terraforming process, though…

Really don’t want to spoil too much, because it’s pretty fucking great. Scanlated by Utopia, and readable here.”

Oniwakamaru the Visitor

More translated work by yours truly is finally starting to see the light of day on the internet. Here’s the second series I’d been working on lately, Oniwakamaru the Visitor.

The story revolves around a young man who is pure of heart to the point that it is detrimental to himself, and how his journeys with the demon inside of him. Think Devilman’esque. Two completely diametric personalities living within the same body. It’s a bit more than slice of life as shit is starting to happen in the series. Also, it’s by the same author as the amazing Riki-Oh that everyone should read whenever they get a moment that moment being right now.

This one was scanlated by Illuminati-Manga, and the release will be readable here.”

Kuoushi translates things

So as some of you are aware, I am a translator. Japanese to English and all that weeaboo stuff. I recently jumped into the world of scanlation again after a pretty long break and some of the projects I’ve been doing are starting to see the light of day. First of those being a little series called Wolfsmund, scanlated by Kotonoha.

Wolfsmund is about the St. Gotthard Pass which is an actual place, and is set in medieval times. Lots of unrest, secrecy, tyranny, you get the idea. It’s a pretty gritty story, and the author used to be an assistant to Kentaro Miura. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, then maybe the title Berserk does?

In any case, I am translating chapter 5 and onwards, so that means you’ve got some reading to be done if you’re interestd. It’s definitely worth a read, with hopefully many more chapters to come. Slight warning, it’s most definitely not safe for work.

Surprise site update!

I hope you guys enjoy the new site, I’ve worked pretty hard to make the site look a lot better for you guys. I think it will be much easier to use from here on out. We will go forward with this new design and try to make it as eye-friendly and full of color as we possibly can.

I know I have missed a few things here and there, but I’ll be going through and updating them as I find them.

I’d love to hear some opinions!
